Announcing the inaugural Ian Wilson Memorial Fellow

Graphic novelist Georgina Chadderton is the very first Ian Wilson Memorial Fellow.
This new fellowship was created by the Trust to honour our founding Chair, the late Honourable Ian Wilson AM, and to support emerging authors or illustrators, with dedicated creative time and professional development.

Georgina's March 2017 Fellowship project will be to complete the second third of her debut graphic novel and memoir, Oh Brother, about growing up with a brother with autism.

Georgina has had a huge year. She began work on Oh Brother with the support of Carclew's 2016 Colin Thiele Creative Writing Scholarship. More recently, she was the recipient of the Banksia Project for the Adelaide Supernova pop culture expo. A self described "hopeless fan girl and Muppets enthusiast" Georgina is a prolific creator. This year alone she has self-published 5 mini-comics: Harry Potter & My Childhood Obsession, My Time in the GongCome To My ShowADL —> MEL and Alright Ghost Fans.

Through her work on Oh Brother, her goal is to transition from writing short comics to creating a full-length graphic novel, with the aim of being published.
