The SA Support Group of the May Gibbs Children’s
Literature Trust invites you to meet our
2014 City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters
Fellow from the Blue Mountains in NSW,
James Roy

James Roy had his first book published in 1996 and has
now written over 20 books for young people, many of
them award winners. They include 2 Children’s Book
Council Honour Books, 2 Premier’s Award winners and a
nominee for the prestigious German Youth Literature
Prize. James spent 18 years working in adolescent and
pediatric health, which offered a unique perspective on the lives of young people.
Come and hear James talk about his writing, his Fellowship projects including
workshops with secondary students from the Norwood, Payneham and St Peter’s
Council area and his current book he is working on whilst in Adelaide.

Where: The Banquet Hall, St Peters Public Library
101 Payneham Road, St Peters SA (parking off St Peters Avenue
behind the library and enter through the library)
Time: 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm
Cost: $20.00 – including wine, soft drinks and refreshments
$5.00 for secondary school students
No cost for children accompanied by a paying adult
